Poinsettias at Disney World

Nothing gets you in a Christmas state of mind more than when you see a bunch of poinsettias grouped together in a festive display and no place on Earth puts out better floral displays the ones at Walt Disney World.

Disney goes all out when decorating for the Holidays, if it doesn’t move you can bet they’ll be something festive stuck to it or hung from it and their flower beds are no exception. Poinsettias are the most common holiday flower displayed and why not they are beautiful, colorful and extremely festive.

I spotted these Osceola Wild Turkeys off Nova Road. Turkey season opens soon, just in time for Thanksgiving.

Charlie Daniels Band - Jam for America

On the way home from Biketoberfest we went to Jam for America at Edgewater Ranch. The Charlie Daniels Band was the headlining act and they were fantastic, playing all my favorite songs I grew up with.

Chuck Wicks also performed, I wasn't really familiar with his music but enjoyed it all the same.

The Lost Trailers were the opening act and were the surprise of the evening. I haven't been listening to country music in the last twenty years or so, actually I listen to everything but country music. But hearing The Lost Trailers may make me a fan again.

Biketoberfest 2009 Photos

Biketoberfest is an annual ritual where motorcycle enthusiast ride into Daytona Beach to show their bikes, party, look at pretty girls and have fun.

Here's a nice custom chopper that caught my eye.

The Hooters Calendar Girls were featured in a Bikini Contest at Daytona International Speedway.

Dirty Harry's is the central location on Main Street and has more beautiful women serving alcoholic beverages than anyone.

Biketoberfest was a huge financial boon to Daytona Beach. According to WFTV, 175k riders spent 215 million dollars in the area. Can't wait for Bike Week!
