Performance Photo Tips

School is starting back up and soon the kids will be on the stage and you'll want to snap a few photos. When shooting photos of plays, choir or band performances you'll want to keep a few things in mind.

A flash from most point and shoot cameras only work for about 10-15 feet and they may also disturb the performers. So manually turn off the flash and try to hold the camera as steady as possible, even brace the camera on something or use a tripod.

If using an digital SLR camera, set the f-stop to the highest setting and show the shutter speed as much as possible and experiment to get the best results.
